Question

Enzyme activity. I need to graph these two different groups and I am not sure where to even begin.

we used 1% starch solution as the substrate and amylase (obtained from bacillus amyloliquefaciens)

There are two types of graphs:

1) %T against time (in minutes) and

2) enzyme activity against condition. You should have these types of plots for both pH and temp data.

Answer #1

Optimum temperature for the enzymatic activity of salivary anylasa range from 32°to30°. The optimum temperature means that the temperature at which the enzyme shows the maximum activity. At this optimum temperature, the enzymes is most active and hence takes less time to digest the starch .the optimum PH for the enzymatic activity of salivary amylase ranges from 6 to 7 .the most active at PH 6.8
