The FRET efficiency is given by the equation,

E = R6 + R6 R6 + b

Where, R is the distance between donor and acceptor pair.

R0 being the Förster distance.

Förster distance is the distance between donor and acceptor at which the FRET efficiency is 50%.

It is given that R is 12% longer than the R0, Förster distance.

That is R = R0 + 0.12R0

= 1.12 R0

substituting these values in our equation, we get the FRET efficiency as:
