Because of Refraction.

Clear lenses do not allow all the light to pass through them; they still interact with light through refraction. Refraction is what makes clear lenses produce a shadow. As Light passes through the lens, Air and glass have different indices of refraction. The light, therefore, bends when it goes from air into glass, such as at the surface of a glass lens. Refraction occurs at the surface of the Lens. This causes a black spot/ Shadow.
