Question

Potential temperature can be used to compare the temperature of air parcels that are at different levels in the troposphere. Since temperature tends to decrease with height, it is difficult to note which regions in the troposphere are experiencing warm and which cold advection. Bringing air parcels adiabatically to a standard level (1000 hPa) allows comparisons to be made between air parcels at different elevations. If the potential temperature of an air parcel at one pressure level is lower than that of air parcels at other pressure levels, one can conclude that cold air advection exists at the pressure level with the lowest potential temperature. 1) Which one of the two illustrated parcels below got more energy at the surface? Show work. Parcel one: T 10 C at 100 m Parcel two: 9 °C at 150 m

Geology question. Can someone help? Our global climate is a complex system. It is affected by interactions with the hydrosphere, the biosphere, human activity, and more. Understanding all of these interactions can be Plants are known to use carbon dioxide in photosynthesis and release oxygen as a byproduct . When animals breathe, they exhale more carbon dioxide than they inhale . Animals also produce different gases when expeling other waste products, often in the form of gases such as the...
