Answer #1

Answer 10 :

A fish tank in a pet store has 15 fish in it. 11 are orange and 4 are white. Determine the probability that if we select 3 fish from the tank, at least 2 will be white.

Solution :

Total fish = 15

Orange fish = 11

White fish = 4

P(Atleast 2 out of 3 will be white)

= P(2 white) + P(3 white)

= (4C2 * 11C1) + (4C3 * 11C0) / 15C3

= (6*11 + 4*1) / 455

= (66 + 4)/455

= 70/455

= 0.1538

Therefore option a) is correct answer.
