The obturator nerve supplies all the muscles in the medial compartment of the thigh. It enters the thigh by passing through the obturator foramen accompanied by the obturator artery. It divides into anterior and posterior branches as it goes through the obturator foramen.

The exit point of the external iliac arteries is lateral to the insertion point of the inguinal ligament on the pubic tubercle, approximately one third the distance of pubic tubercle to the anterior superior iliac spine. Distal to inguinal ligament, the external iliac artery becomes the common femoral artery.
