Answer #1

Given dry bulb temperature=10 degree Celsius

Air flow rate=1000m^3/hr

Gas constant R= 287 J/kgK

Total pressure Pt= 1.0132 bar

Pv= 0.01212 bar ( from steam tables, at 10 degree Celsius

Therefore, mass flow rate /sec= (Pt-Pv)x (V)/RT

=
(1.0132-0.01212)*(100000)*(1000)/(287)(273+10)(60*60)

=0.342kg/s

ma=0.342kg/s

Therefore,

heating coil capacity = ma x Cp (21-10)

= 0.342 x 1.005 x11

= 3.8 KW

Hence, option (a) is correct.
