The smallest value (place value) that can be measured by an experiment using a given instument is calle the least count.

So the last digit in the measuerment gives the least count (i.e. the smallest increment) in the measurment.

a) 12.30 cm - 0.01 cm

b) 72.9 g - 0.1 g

c) 12.15 mL - 0.01 mL

d) 172.0 ° C - 0.1 °C
