A thin rectangular ferrite clip is used around a wire for suppression of electromagnetic interference. The wire carries 7 Amps of DC current at the moment. The relative magnetic permeability of the ferrite material is µr = 600. Calculate the magnetic flux density magnitude B inside the ferrite clip, according to the Ampere’s law given below:

B · dl = µ0*µr*I

The dimensions of the clip are a = 30 cm and b = 40 cm. Assume that curve ~l follows the rectangular shape of the ferrite clip. Also, since the ferrite clip is very thin, the flux density vector is aligned with the curve everywhere inside of the material.

Consider a cylindrical capacitor like that shown in Fig. 24.6. Let d = rb − ra be the spacing between the inner and outer conductors. (a) Let the radii of the two conductors be only slightly different, so that d << ra. Show that the result derived in Example 24.4 (Section 24.1) for the capacitance of a cylindrical capacitor then reduces to Eq. (24.2), the equation for the capacitance of a parallel-plate capacitor, with A being the surface area of...
