Answer #1

#3. As per the given data Zn is most reactive , Fe is second most , H2 is third and Cu is least reative .

A more reactive metal can be oxidise by less reactive one while a less reactive metal can't be oxidized by more reactive one .

Thus reaction (a) will not take place as Zn is more reactive and it cannot oxidize Fe to Fe^+2 .

Fe(s) + ZnSO4(aq) >>> no reaction (NR)

Similarly reaction (b) will also not take place as H is more reactive than Cu and cannot oxidize Cu to Cu^+2 .

Reaction (c) will take place as Zn is most reactive and can be oxidized to Zn^+2 by Cu (less reactive) as ;

Zn(s) + CuCl2(aq) >>>>> ZnCl2(aq) + Cu(s)

Similarly rxn (d) will also not take place as Fe is more reactive than Cu .

Thus option (c) is the correct answer.

#4.

When Cu is more reactive than Ag , then Cu can be oxidized by Ag as ;

Cu(s) + 2AgNO3(aq) >>>>> Cu(NO3)2(aq) + 2Ag(s)
