Answer #1

Why it is important to have both?

Most of the factors of the business continuity planning and disaster recovery planning are same but have different goals.

If we start doing business continuity planning then it automatically makes disaster recovery planning much easier and simpler. Hence it shows the relation between them.

The business continuity defines many things that is needed to complete an effective disaster recovery plan .

Disaster recovery planning relies mainly on the elements of Business continuity planing.

How it impacts?

RPO and RTO it has the basis for the identifying and analyzing strategies for the business continuity plan.

RTO is the measurement of how quickly the workload can be re-stored from the database.

RPO is the combination of time between recovery points and time it take to sent data to the backup.

This both helps in choosing the right data backup plan.
