Answer #1

Number of ways to select r items from n, nCr = n!/(r! x (n-r)!)

P(the customer selects 3 slices that are the same) = (Number of ways to select 3 cheese slices from 5 + Number of ways to select 3 supreme slices from 7) / Number of ways to select any 3 from 12

= (5C3 + 7C3) / 12C3

= (10 + 35) / 220

= 0.2045
