Temperate zones are that part of the earth's surface which fall between the tropic of Cancer and the Arctic Circle in the Northern Hemisphere . It is located From 23.5° to 66.5° North lattitude
In southern hemisphere,it is lying between the tropic of Capricorn and the Antarctic Circle. 23.5° to 66.5° South lattitude.
This zone is characterized by having a climate that is warm in the summer, cold in the winter.it has Autumn and spring season.
The Seasons are the caused by tilting of the earth's axis.
In temperate zones, a complete cycle of season occur.
Reasons-
Seasons is caused by Earth's tilt toward the sun. Earth rotates around it's own imaginary axis.
At different times during the year, the northern or southern axis is closer to the sun. During these times, the hemisphere tipped toward the Sun experiences summer, while the hemisphere tilted away from the sun experiences winter.
During summer season,Sun rays hit directly (Perpendicular or at higher angle ) to the temperate zone which causes it more insolation and result in warmer condition.
But during Winter season,Sun rays hit at low angle (extreme) angle to the temperate zone which causes less insolation and result in less warm condition than summer.
Moreover Day duration( total time when sun give energy to earth) also affect this.
Summer has long day time and winter has small day time which result warmer climatic condition in summer than winter.
