(a)Spectrochemical series:- It's the series of ligand in which we arrange all the ligands according to their strength to form complex compound.

If ∆o>pairing energy (pairing takes place)

If ∆o< pairing energy (no pairing takes place)

In above question it is given that ∆o= 22000cm^-1& pairing energy is 16500cm^-1 means ∆o >pairing energy....so pairing is takes place.
