Answer #1

Given working days= 240 days

working time = 8 hrs per day

So, Total no of hours in a year = 8 * 240 = 1920 hrs

Average power consumption by computer = 30 W

Total energy consumption in kWh = \frac{watts * time (hrs)}{1000} = \frac{30 * 1920}{1000} = 57.6 kWh

1 kWh produces 500g of CO2e per year

Therefore, amount of CO2e produced by 57.6 kWh = 57.6 * 500 g = 28800 g

Hence, The computer contributes 28800 g ( or 28.8 Kg ) of CO2e in a year.
