Answer)
Automation is a threat to job security of several individuals who are working in the IT sector and also in the non-IT sector. Many jobs are being lost and will be lost to automation. Education and skills in automation is necessary and re-skilling to automation technologies are mandatory for survival of jobs in the IT industry.
There are many kinds of IT jobs which can be automated in today's time such as:
Data entry operators, manual typing, manual testing of software - These jobs are much threatened by the automation move in the IT industry. Automation is also creating new jobs which require the individuals to be re-skilled in those technologies and tools.
Many non-IT jobs also can be automated, many processes in banking - cash withdrawal, receipt, clerk jobs and many other activities can be automated, railway ticket vending machines can be installed without using any manual person as a clerk, many tax management activities can be automated.
I think, education need to be continued as education of everything gives us a objective to be appropriate for a job change in future and also get us re-skilled according to the opportunities and conditions of the job market. Education is basic and is important for understanding anything that's occurring in the technical front these days. So I think one should continue the education.
Yes, staying relevant in the workforce as mentioned above sure needs more and continuous learning. We have to be open to get re-skilled and learn continuously of technologies and apply them as relevant to our jobs. Such skills and learning will make sure we don't get behind the new era of technologies and skills required in the IT job market.
