Answer #1

(Mn2+ + 4 H2O --> MnO4- + 8 H+ + 5e- )             x 2
(BiO3- + 6 H+ + 2e- --> Bi3+ + 3 H2O )                x 5

Complete balanced chemical reaction equation is:

2Mn2+ + 5BiO3- + 14H+ -> 2MnO4- + 5Bi3+ + 7H2O

from balanced equation the coefficient of H+ is 14, hence the number of moles of H+ are consumed is 14, but in question they are asked How many moles of H+ are consumed for each mole of Mn2+

Answer: 7
