Answer #1

a]

P = 400 psia = 2.758 x 106 N/m2

T = 795 F = 697.0388 K

Assuming Steam to be an Ideal gas, the specific volume will be:

v = \frac{RT}{PM}

where M = molar mass of steam = 18.02 g/mol = 0.01802 kg/mol

R = 8.314 J/mol/K

substitute these values to get specific volume v

b]

Enthalpy is given by:

\Delta H = c_pT

Use the value of specific heat of steam at constant pressure cp of 2.758 MPa and T = 697.0388 K and find the Enthalpy.
