because energy is directionaly proportional to the productof opposite charged divided by distance between the charges.

2) Pentane (CH3CH2CH2CH2CH3) is expected to boil at a lower temperature than propane (CH3CH2CH3). = False

Because as the number of carbon atoms increases in the straight chain alkanes the boiling points of the alkane increases therefore pentane have higher bopiling point than propane.
