We can have spaces in our file and directory names (like Windows). File names and directory names are case sensitive (unlike Windows). Create directories with the following names in your home directories, use ls to check they are there.

so i am gong to tell 2 ways by using which above question can be answered for MY DOCUMENTS. first of all let me clear that mkdir is used to create directories. now "ls" is used to list all the files in that directory. i am using "" for MY DOCUMENTS because if the file name is more then 1 word then to treat that to 1 word we use braces. to change the temp direcetory mentioned below you can use cd i.e change directory command. after that you came out of that automatically. now, below i am using 2 commands i.e

1) ls -a = here -a will show you all hidden files. As you can notice below it is showing "...", it means that in general case file format is hidden, you cannot list it here.

2) ls= here it will show all files that have public format i.e. if file is not hidden file then you can see it.

below is the another way of making MY DOCUMENTS file. basically here "\" will skip one word after it and take further words i.e. space after \ is skipped and Documents is combined with My.

This is correct that file name in linux is case sensitive. As we know linux is open source OS. In linux forward slash is used to seperate directory names. And also linux provides more security then windows.
