Substances which conduct electric Current in aqueous or molten state are known as electrolytes.

All acids , bases and salts are electrolytes.

Ionic compounds when dissolved in water , dissociate into it's respective ions and conduct electric Current. Hence ionic compounds are electrolytes.

KCl when dissolved in water forms K+ and Cl- ions , hence it can conduct electric Current.

KCl is an electrolyte.
