Magnesium and oxygen combine together to form magnesium oxide.

The reaction is:–

2Mg(s) + O2(g) —> 2MgO(s)

If neither reagent is limiting reagent and reaction occur completely so that all the reactant is consumed. In that case the mass of product formed will be equal to combined mass of reagent. That is reaction will obey Law of mass action. So answer is

the sum of the mass of reactants.
