Answer #1

rate law is written as

rate = k [NH3]x[NO]y

we have to find order w. r. t. NH3 or simply x

for experiment 1

0.12 = k (1*10-5)x *(1*10-5)y (1)

for experiment 2

0.24 = k (2.00*10-5)x  *(1*10-5)y (2)

divide (2) by (1)

0.24/0.12 = (2)x (1)y

thus 2 = 2x

thus x =1

thus order w. r. t. NH3 =1
