According to Arrhenius theory:

Proton donor is acid. HBr donates a proton. Hence HBr is Arrhenius acid.

Hydroxide ion dodnor is base. KOH is hydroxide donor. KOH is Arrhenius base.

Acid and base react to form salt and water which is called a neutralization reaction.

[According to Bronsted-Lowry theory, proton donor is acid and proton acceptor is base.

Whereas, Lewis acid is electron pair acceptor and Lewis base is electron pair donor.]
