Answer #1

Problem 1 : We have to tell which alkane is cis or trans or neither in nature. Cis alkene major group are on same side while in trans alkenes, major group that attached to alkene are opposite to each other.

Problem 2: We have to configure alkene E and Z. For that we have to first indicate the priority groups that are attached to alkene. Group will higher atomic mass will be prioritized first. If the priority groups are attached on same side then it is Z and if priority groups are attached on different sides then it is E.

Problem 3: We have to write IUPAC name which is done by giving number to the longest chain containing major group. Although we don't require to write classification of alkene in IUPAC but still we can write just for indication. We have answer:-

froblem 1:0 LH as - Cis-alkene Same side major group are ? cis or trans So answer It cannot be is neither - as major gezoopar~ It is cis- alkene as major group ore opposite It cannot be either cis or trans because we have some environment around allto Toulority groups Be opposite each other . So it is PROBLEN 3 6 a - Hex-2-ene ý trans- Hex-2, 4-diene cis- hex-2,4-diene 7

Jasperse note: you don't need to deal with whether substituents on the rings are R/S or cis/trans in this problem, since 3-D stereochemistry is not illustrated. No EIZ stereo needs to be designated for cycloalkenes. Notes: make sure the alkene carbons are #'s 1 and 2, and if one but not both alkene carbons are substituted, make the substituted one #1 and the CH carbon...
