For a transition to be allowed ,

1. Delta l = ±1 (Laporte rule) i.e. there should be change in orbital symmetry. S-s p-p transition are not allowed while s-p p-d are allowed.

2. Delta s =0 (spin rule)

Therefore,From above figure allowed transitions are

3p\rightarrow 6s \Delta l= -1\\ 5p\rightarrow 5d\Delta l= +1\\4d\rightarrow 5f\Delta l= +1\\3d\rightarrow 5p\Delta l= -1

All other transition are not allowed.
