All other reagents can not be used to produce an alcohol or have other reasons, so that it cannot be used here. For example:

Reagent A : Oxidizing reagent; used to convert alcohol into ketone or carboxylic acid.

Reagent B : Can be used to produce an alcohol, but the phenyl group (-C​​​​​6H5) will attach in the product molecule.

Reagent C : Used in esterification reaction (carboxylic acid to carboxylic ester).

Reagent D : Reduces carbonyl compounds (aldehydes and ketones) to produce alcohols.

Reagent E : Used as a base in elimination reaction.

Reagent F : Called Wolff-Kishner reagent. Used in the following conversion reaction -- C = 0 + CH2 .

Therefore the answer should be :

When 3-methyl-2-butanone is treated with reagent D, it will produce 3-methyl-2-butanol.
