Answer #1

Answer :

Option (3) 302 KJ released

From the reaction , 1 mole of O2 and 2 mole of H2 combine to form water and releases 484 KJ of energy ( -ve sign indicate energy is released) .

Now , available mole of O2 = 0.624 mole

1 mole of O2 required = 2 mole of H2

0.624 mole of O2 required = 2 * 0.624 = 1.248 mole of H2

But available mole of H2 is 1.31 mole . It means H2 is in excess . So, limiting Reagent is O2 .

Further calculation is done on the available mole of O2

1 mole of O2  in the reaction release energy = 484 KJ

0.624 mole of O2 in the reaction release energy = 484 * 0.624 = 302 KJ

So, 302 KJ of energy is released
