Answer #1

Question.18.Ans :- Option (b) i.e. aqueous ammonia and aqueous magnesium hydroxides act as moderate bases.

On the other hand LiOH is a strong base and hydroxides of Sc and Zn are ampoteric i.e. act as acid as well as base.

NH3 and Mg(OH)2 (Milk of magnesia) are a moderate bases.

------------------------------------

Question.19.Ans :- Option (c) i.e. Nitric acid, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid and perchloric acid act as strong acids while hydrogen fluoride, sulfurous acid and chloric acid are weak acids.

----------------------------------

Question.20.Ans :- Option (b) i.e. sodium, potassium and cesium ions acts as base spectator ions. On the other hand Ca(OH)2 does not form spectator ions as it is insoluble in water.
