Dear student, as mentioned in the above procedure, reaction mixture reflux for one hour therefore Figure A is the correct set up for the reflux reaction, But after the completion of reaction the Excess acetone which you have used about 250 ML removed by the simple distillation therefore figure B is also mandatory so the correct answer is c, both a and B are useful.
