Decipher what the unknown compound is by looking at its IR (1st picture), CNMR (2nd picture) and HNMR (3rd picture)
On the basis of these three spectrums, most probable organic compound is phenyl benzoate (C6H5COOC6H5).
Informations from From IR Spectrum:
1. Peak near about 3500 (cm-1) is due to C=O overtone
2. Peaks between 3100-3000 (cm-1) is due to sp3C-H stretching
3. Peak around 1740 (cm-1) is due to C=O ( in Conjugation with phenyl ring system)
4. Peak between 1600 -1450 (cm-1) is due to C=C of phenyl ring.
Informations from From 13C-NMR Spectrum:
There are nine (9) peaks in 13C-NMR spectrum of compound which reveals that nine different carbons are there in the molecule.
1. Peak at 165 ppm is for Carbonyl carbon
2. Peak at 151 ppm is for Carbon of benzene ring just adjacant to ester group (or next to oxygen atom)
3. Remaining other peaks also belong to Carbon of aromatic ring system.
Information from 1H-NMR Spectrum
1. Peaks between 7.2 ppm to 7.65 ppm is belongs to C-H of aromatic ring system.
2. Peak at near about 8.2 ppm is also belongs to aromatic ring but the downfield shifting of these protons indicates that they are near about to C=O group.
These all informations indicates that the most probable molecule is phenyl benzoate.
