The charged particles in the beam are negatively charged electrons.

So, out of the given options, the first and fourth are incorrect since it is the negatively charged particles which were removed.

Currently, we know that protons (positively charged) and neutrons (neutral) are clustered together in a small volume at the centre of the atom, called the nucleus.

The electrons orbit the nucleus in orbits which are located at certain distances from the nucleus.

Hence, option 3 is correct.
