Suppose we have a 1V source having a resistance 100 Ohm in series . It is giving 10mA current as shown in simulation waveform on top.

Now if we want to connect a 100 Ohm and want to draw almost 10mA current then see wat happen if we connect directly. It is giving 5mA current.

The last figure on right side is same source and load condition but it is connected with buffer. We are now getting the same current i.e 10mA. This the most advantageous thing of Buffering.

Suppose we have a circuit whose output impedance is very high and it is to be connected to another circuit whose input impedance is very low. In this case a great power loss will be there and hence maximum power can not be delivered. Now, if we connect a buffer in between the two then the impedance is matched as the input impedance of a buffer is very high and output impedance is very low. Hence the impedance will be matched and maximum power transfer can take place.
