Answer #1

a) Response variable= sheer strength

Explanatory variable= Diameter

b) H0: Beta1= 0

H1: Beta1 not= 0

c) There is enough evidence to conclude that the mean shear strength is linearly related to weld diameter. The data indicate that as weld diameter increases , so does shear strength on average

d) We are 95% confident that the true mean shear strength increases by between 22.12 and 35.76 kN/mm for each one millimeter increase in weld diameter.

Help with this statistics problem please. As part of a study at a large university, data were collected on n = 224 freshmen computer science (CS) majors in a particular year. The researchers were interested in modeling y, a student's grade point average (GPA) after three semesters, as a function of the following independent variables (recorded at the time the students enrolled in the university): x1 = average high school grade in mathematics (HSM) x2 = average high school grade...

Please Help!!! Thank you!!! The slant shear test is widely accepted for evaluating the bond of resinous repair materials to concrete; it utilizes cylinder specimens made of two identical halves bonded at 30°. An article reported that for 10 specimens prepared using wire- brushing, the sample mean shear strength (N/mm2) and sample standard deviation were 18.10 and 1.59, respectively, whereas for 10 hand-chiseled specimens, the corresponding values were 23.17 and 5.02. Does the true average strength appear to be different...
