2. Individuals can receive these benefits as early as age 6

  • These are the dependent benefits. The children of the covered employees are entitled for the dependent benefits under social security.

3. An employee and certain family members may qualify for benefits based on the person’s work history if the employee has a medical condition that prevents the employee from working.

  • These are the disability benefits under social security. Usually the employees who had covered employment, and got injured or disabled at the workplace, qualify for these benefits.

4. This is a form of life insurance that is paid to members of a deceased person’s family who meet the eligibility requirements.

  • These are the survivors benefits. The surviving spouse and children of the covered employees are entitled for the survivor benefits under social security.
