austronaut mass m1 = 80 kg

mass of oxygen tank m2 = 10 kg

initial momentum is zero

there is no initial momentum or velocity

final momentum pf = m2v2+m1v1

80*v2 = -10*2

v2 = -20/80 = -0.25 m/s

final momentum also zero

because momentum is conserved

so change in momentum = 0

c) final speed v = 0.25 m/s

the negative sign indicates the astronaut motion is opposite to the oxygen tan motion
