Answer #1

\boldsymbol{Answer \;\; a)} The dimension which is linear in shape means parallel to the horizontal and vertical side of the object is known as the linear dimension. Generally, it shows, the distance between two-point.

  1. Left Side figure: The horizontal linear dimension is 6 and the vertical linear dimension is 3.
  2. Right Side figure: The horizontal linear dimension is 3 and the vertical linear dimension is 2.
  3. The total Horizontal linear dimension is 9 and the total Vertical linear dimension is 5.

Hence, the total linear dimension is 13.

\boldsymbol{Answer \;\; b)} The dimension which is circular in shape means it allows to dimensioning the arc and the circle is known as the diameter dimension.

  1. Left Side figure: The diameter dimension is 3.
  2. Right Side figure: The diameter dimension is 1.

Hence, the total Diameter dimension is 4.

\boldsymbol{Answer \;\; c)} The dimension which is in terms of the angle between two lines or two objects is known as the angular dimension.

  1. Left Side figure: The angular dimension is 0.
  2. Right Side figure: The angular dimension is 1.

Hence, the total Angular dimension is 1.

\boldsymbol{Answer \;\; d)} The dimension which shows some text about particular point is known as the notes-leader line dimension. Here, it contains words like THRU, UNC, etc.

  1. Left Side figure: The notes-leader line dimension is 1.
  2. Right Side figure: The notes-leader line dimension is 1.

Hence, the total Notes-leader line dimension is 2.

\boldsymbol{Answer \;\; f)} The dimension which selects the size of the hole to show that the hole is passing through the workpiece is known as THRU in dimensioning. THRU Can determine the top length of the cut which is not understood by image replacement.

\boldsymbol{Answer \;\; g)} Yes this part is passed while inspecting because part required 1.000-inch thickness but we, have 1.002-inch thickness. It means we have some extra thickness that why we can remove and get accurate thickness. But if we have less than 1.000-inch thickness like 0.998 inch then part was failed during inspection due to less thickness. Note that, if we some extra quantity then we can remove it and get proper quantity. But if we have already a shortage quantity then we have very much trouble getting proper quantity.
