Radius of the Ferris Wheel, R = 79.25 m

Initial angular speed of the Ferris Wheel, wo = 20 radians every 2.5 minutes

= 20 / 2.5 rad/min

= 20 / (2.5 x 60) rad/s

= 0.133 rad/s

The Ferris Wheel comes to stop in 27 seconds

Suppose, angular deceleration of the wheel = \alpha

Write the expression of angular speed and angular deceleration,

w = wo - \alpha *t

=> 0 = 0.133 - \alpha *27

=> \alpha = 0.133 / 27 = 0.0049 rad/s^2

Therefore, tangential deceleration of the Ferris Wheel,

a = \alpha * R = 0.0049 * 79.25 m/s^2 = 0.39 m/s^2 (Answer)
