Assume the truck travels in either direction along the center of the deck, and therefore transfers half of the load shown to each of the two side girders. The truck that travels to the left exerts the loads shown in (Figure 2). Assume the splice is a fixed connection and, like the girder, can support both shear and bending moment. Suppose that F1=1.3 kN, F2=2.6 kN, F3=7.8 kN, and F4=5.2 kN
