We want to set a Wireless Sensor Network with over 100 sensors that are at around 50 meters distance from the central server. The sensors need to use batteries, as no access to electrical power is available for them. The information transmitted between the sensors and the server is in the 1kb/s range. What type of networking protocol you would use (Wi-Fi, ZigBee or Bluetooth) and why?

ZigBee network protocol is prefferdover Wi-Fi and Bluetooth because :

  1. This network seems to be a simple wireless network and ZigBee is best suitable for simple network.
  2. As mentioned their is no electrical power so there is no scope of using wifi as it consume lot of power so we can choose ZigBee over wifi.
  3. Here range of network is around 50 meter so ZigBee is preffered for this range .Bluetooth is only limited to one small room only.
  4. ZigBee provide better battery life than others and also provide wide range.
