Answer #1

How would rebreathing exhaled air from a paper bag prevent an individual who is hyperventilating from fainting? Rebreathing e

Hyperventilation leads to increase wash out of carbon dioxide from the lung, this in turn decreases the arterial CO2 i.e decrease in pCO2 of arteries.

Decrease pCO2 results in decrease generation of bicarbonate and h+ and hence respiratory Alkosis occurs.

Rebreathing of exhaled air results in reinhalation of the Exhaled arbon dioxide which prevents sudden decrease in arterial pCO2 and hence prevents respiratory alkalosis
