I need help interpreting this GC/MS spectrum, the product is suppose to be methyl 2-bromomethyl benzoate.
Radical bromination of methyl 2-methylbenzoate with N-bromosuccinimide and DCM was conducted to produce methyl 2-bromomethyl benzoate.
We can see 3 peaks. The one with highest abunndance is methyl 2-bromomethyl benzoate. There are 2 other products as well which have a higher m/z ratio. Both of these have less abundance than methyl 2-bromomethyl benzoate. These might be di substitued with bromine and thus have higher m/z ratio. Further these 2 among themselves are probably isomers because there m/z ratio is very close (103 & 106).
