Eating disorders are most prevalent in Western cultures where food is plentiful.

Eating disorders are primarily concerned with eating more thus becoming obese, eating less in order to maintain body fitness and sometimes eating and vomiting to remain fit. Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and Binge eating are some of the common eating disorders. These disorders are common in rich Western countries where food is plentiful and where people have more money to buy food.
