In the distillation a pure substance ,as the boiling point is reached though there is some energy for some molecules to undergo phase change from liquid to gas but there remains certain molecules which does not have enough energy to undergo vapourization to gas and thus extra heat energy is needed which is called heat of vapourization to be added to system to vapourize all the water at once.
