Please explain how flexible manufacturing innovations/technologies and computer operated (or aided) designs may help create small niches in the market place. Please back up your answer with an example (14pts)

(I dont want the below answer, looking for a new answer. Thank you!)

(Computer-aided design and flexible manufacturing help create small niches in the market place by allowing firms to develop and produce a greater number of versions of their products. This means that companies can now tailor their offerings to small niches in the market place. For example, if a company manufactures basketballs, it can produce different sizes and colors of basketballs for children, teens, males, and females. It can also produce different basketballs for outdoor courts and for gymnasiums. Different qualities of balls can be produced to meet price levels consumers are willing to pay.)

Answer)

When one talks about the flexible manufacturing innovation/technology it means that the system which is to be produced should be able to adapt to changes, both as type and quantity.

The machines are being computerized and configured for manufacturing many different parts for handling the various production levels.

One such flexible manufacturing innovation/technology and computer operated design are as follows:

Initially, cars were meant as a means of transport which was being manually operated.

Also, at a point of time, the GPRS was invented and used for the Military Activities.

But due to innovations and imagination and creativity, it is now being used as a source of Super Car/ self-driven cars that are based on sensors and GPS, which doesn't need a human intervention.

Scientists and users have invented as users have demanded the innovation to such cars with advancements. The use of GPRS to navigate to the destination they need is one such example.

Also in the current scenario, GPRS is the only means used in Car which are self-driven like Google Car.

With all the information collected from the earlier inventions. The imagination towards creating such creative things that help society is key to innovation.

It is indeed making the life of society easier.
