Movie analysis: Analyze a scene in a movie (animated movies do not count) that you think violates the physics principles we have covered this term, and analyze it quantitatively to show whether or not it obeys the laws of physics, and to what extent it violates it. (For example, can you determine whether g = 9.8 m/s2 in the movie). referring to the laws of physics: Newton’s Laws, Conservation of Energy, and Conservation of Momentum. Discussing only kinematics is not sufficient.

Many instances, Superman has broken and enhanced the laws of physics in many ways. His many talents such as flying through mid-air, freezing breath, and super speed all break the laws of physics.

Flight
One of his most notable talents, flying, at such high speeds, completely disregard the laws of gravity. Superman is able to define gravity by flying into the air without the gravitational pull of 9.8. Part of Newton's Three Laws, "an object in motion tends to stay in motion unless acted upon," Superman can enhance this law by flying at high peeks into the air and change his speed, not necessarily acted upon other objects around him.

Freezing Breath
According to the laws of conservation of heat, heat is a form of energy derived from the temperature difference between a body and it's surroundings system. In this case, Superman is able to transform the amount of heat that is being transferred from his outside surroundings. Superman can automatically freeze another living thing's body temperature, ultimately killing them.

In a scene in which superman has to stop a falling plane and save it's passengers. He stops a falling plane in a baseball field defies the law of conservation of momentum. In this particular scene we witnessed inelastic collision in which both bodies move together after the collision. We know that momentum depends on two quantities mass of the object and its velocity. Since the veloctiy after the collision is same , the mass of the superman must be so big as compare to the mass of airplane to properly follow the principle of conservation of momentum. So how can suddenly superman gains that much weight is another example of defying physic's law.
