Question
Need help on how to make an excel spreadsheet that will have drop down options that reference to cells on another sheet if possible or to the same sheet if not. The drop downs need to be for the material type such as 6061-T6 Aluminum. When the material is selected from the dropdown I need it to fill in values in the cells for the Yield Strength and Mod of elast. at the same time based off of the values ive input on the seperate sheet. This can be a simple how to using similar data. Thanks in advance!

COLUMN ANALYSIS PROGRAM Aluminum PSI Material Properties: Material: 6061-T6 Units: US Cutomary Column Length: L Cross Secti
A-14 Typical properties of aluminum alloys. Ultimate strength, s, Alloy and temper ksi MPa Alloys in wrought form 1100-H12 11

Figured out how to reference information based on the table but now I need the values that are being pulled to be referenced depending on another drop down selection for units in US or S.I units. Thanks

Here's what is supposed to be done in order to create a drop down list on a different table:-

-The user is required to open up the sheet from where he/she would want to select the data from the cells to put them in the drop down on a different sheet.

-The next step that follows is to create a new sheet and name it as per convenience then put the names for the columns in this new sheet, once done the user is required to revert back to the previous sheet from where the data is supposed to be taken and shall select the cells that are required to be put in the drop down, once selected, the user is then required to name them anything they would want to in the "name box" (that would club the items that are to be dropped down) and then press enter.

-Now the user shall go to the other sheet and select the cells in the columns in which he/she wants to make the drop downs and look for the data validation option at the top right corner of the spread sheet and under the "settings" option look for what says "allow" then select "list" from there a new option would appear under named "source", in "source" the user shall type the name for the clubbed items he put in the previous sheet in the "name box". this can also be done by pressing the F3 key that will show the name of the clubbed items list.

-Each of the cell in the new list will now have their own drop down list and options will appear that can be selected from there at any given time.

In the above scenario only the "yield strength" and "modulus of elasticity" cells can be selected and can be clubbed using the "name box" which can be called in the next sheet using the drop down after performing the above steps.
