Answer #1

Question: Consider a stable system in which average interarrival time is '3a', the average processing time is 'p" and there are 'm' servers who serve customers. What is the throughput (flow) rate?

Answer: Flow rate = 1/(3a)

Snippets: Throughput (flow) rates are the number of flow units per unit time, in other words, it is the number of units that passes through a process during a period of time. And in multiple server setup, the flow rate is given by "1/a" where "a" is the average interarrival time (the amount of time between two arrivals)
