A 5 to 1 ratio, step-down 1Ø transformer has 230/460 V secondary voltages. The secondary winding being continuously wound but with the center tap brought out. Across one half of the winding is connected an induction motor drawing 50 A at 0.72 pf and 230 V. On the other half is connected an over-excited synchronous motor drawing 40 A at 0.9 pf and 230 V.
