3. 4 number of parallels cannot be placed for an 18-pole motors as the 18 cannot be placed in 4 parallel slots in a motor equally in each parallel line..

[by verifying the other options we can solve by logic as 18 can be divisible by 2,3,6 leaving remaider zero which with 4 can't.]
